Sorghum
Indian export quality sorghum, available in varieties such as traditional white, red, and yellow, adheres to specific specifications to meet international standards. These typically include maintaining moisture content below 12%, limiting foreign matter to less than 2%, and keeping broken kernels below 2%. Sorghum should exhibit uniform colour and appearance, free from discolouration or defects. Packaging is usually in polypropylene bags of 25 kg, 50 kg, or as per buyer’s requirement, with approximately 18 to 20 metric tons loaded in a 20-foot container, depending on packaging size and density. These specifications ensure that Indian sorghum meets the requirements for various applications, including animal feed, human consumption, and brewing.
